Although it rarely makes headlines, N₂O has a global warming impact up to 300 times stronger than CO₂ and plays a role in both climate change and the depletion of the ozone layer.
Emissions appear in familiar industrial processes such as nitric acid production and fertilizer application. They also originate from sectors that are less commonly discussed, including wastewater treatment facilities and industrial heating systems.
Our team has adapted MetCam to track N₂O in real time using the dual band OGI capabilities already applied for methane. With this upgrade now complete, the system is entering field testing as part of our mission to extend detection beyond methane and provide industries with a clearer and more complete emissions profile.
More updates will follow.
Organizations that handle N₂O and wish to explore monitoring options are invited to get in touch.
